England, also known as the Mainland, is the Mainland to the Island of Sodor.
Location[]
England is located to the East of Sodor, across the Walney Channel. It is accessed by the Vicarstown Rolling Bridge and a road bridge.
Railways[]
England has an enormous amount of railways. All the major standard gauge railways merged in 1948 to form British Railways. Many engines from this railway visit Sodor regularly and many of the North Western Railway engines have been bought from there. Some of the Skarloey Railway engines were also built in England.
